Non-radioactive chemical taggants are blended into the ceramic ore and do not degrade over time. If CARBOTAG proppant is found in a common separation facility, it can be easily determined which fracture or stage is allowing proppant to flow to the surface. Since the taggants are added in trace concentrations during the manufacturing process, they do not alter the physical properties of the proppant.
