Do ceramics have economic application in CBM? After all, this is generally a low rate, low stress environment – conventional wisdom says we don’t need the flow capacity in the fracture offered by ceramics. Yet a closer examination of the characteristics of fracture flow in CBM suggests that ceramics are just as beneficial here as in a deep well flowing 10mmcf/d. See an analysis of CBM applications.
