The Comparative Effectiveness of Propping Agents in the Red Fork Formation of the Anadarko Basin (SPE 10132)

Hickey et al. examined monthly production data from 25 gas wells completed in the Red Fork formation of the Anadarko Basin, Oklahoma. The average formation depth was ~11,000 ft, and permeability ranged from 0.1 to 5 md.  Production results were compared for wells stimulated with sand, glass beads, RCS, and high strength ceramic proppant (HSP).  The use of high conductivity HSP was directly related to sustained high levels of production.
