Recent laboratory testing has revealed that fracture propagation conditions cannot be described by traditionally used linear elastic models. Rather, fractures develop in cohesive zones. Fracpro software will soon have an option for a fully 3D planar fracture model that will provide greater accuracy than ever before. The new model also will implement other elements such as the physics of proppant transport and banking.
